Leaving a legacy means giving something that will be valued, treasured, and remembered long after we are gone. A legacy is more than what we leave behind; it is the lasting impact our lives have on the hearts, minds, and faith of others.

As I read the stories of legacy women throughout Scripture, I am both encouraged and enlightened by the realization that whether we are intentional or not, the lives we live, the decisions we make, and the paths we choose ultimately shape our legacy. Every word spoken, every act of kindness, every sacrifice, and every step of faith contributes to the story we leave behind.

The beauty of it all is that we have a choice. While we cannot control every circumstance of our lives, we can choose the values we live by, the faith we model, and the impact we make on those around us. We get to decide what we want to be remembered for.

When we understand that leaving a legacy is inevitable, we begin to live with greater purpose. The question is no longer if we will leave a legacy, but what kind of legacy we will leave. How has my life impacted others? Have I pointed people toward Christ? Have I demonstrated faith, love, grace, and obedience in a way that encourages others to trust God?

These are not questions reserved for the end of life. They are questions that should guide us daily. Legacy is not built in a single moment; it is built through a lifetime of intentional choices. Every day presents an opportunity to leave a legacy that positively impacts others and directs future generations toward a deeper faith in God.

The women of Scripture remind us that an ordinary life surrendered to an extraordinary God can influence generations. Their stories challenge us to consider what we are building today that will continue to speak long after we are gone.

As you reflect on your life today, perhaps ask yourself these questions: How will I be remembered when I leave this life? How has my life influenced others, and has it pointed them toward Christ?

If you're unsure of the answers, or if you recognize there is room for growth, be encouraged. Today is a new opportunity to begin intentionally building the legacy you desire to leave behind. Every act of faith, every word of encouragement, every prayer, and every step of obedience becomes part of the story you are writing.

May your legacy be one that blesses generations to come, points others to the goodness of God, and leaves a lasting testimony of His faithfulness in your life.
